China battles an ageing population, plans to ease family planning rules



Moving on now china is mulling several  steps to tackle  its population crisis according to a  report  china is considering lifting all  restrictions on family planning by 2025.  the country had already introduced a  three-child policy last month  the report said that the government will  begin by first removing the restrictions  in areas where birth rate is the lowest  rules can be relaxed in the country's  economically backward northeast region  in fact one of the provinces had  introduced a three-child policy  in 2016 which was five years before it  was enacted across the country  china which depends on its young  workforce is battling an  ageing population this decades of a  one-child  policy resulted in lower birth rate  according to an estimate 33 percent of  china's population  is expected to be above the age of 60 by  the year 2050.  the rule ended in late 2015 to pave the  way  for the two-child policy that's not it  in order to encourage couples to have  more children  china is also considering introducing  tough new rules for the private tutoring  sector  according to a report curbs on the 120  billion dollars industry  come as china attempts to decrease the  cost of raising children  several couples are reluctant to have  more children  high living costs tuition fees add to  the burden of parents  the industry virtually dictates the  lives of students with classes being  held on weekends  and summer vacations as well according  to the report  the cost of bringing up a child in urban  china is as high as 300  000 and the money spent on education  plays a major role in this china which  initially put  curbs to control its population is now  trying to do the opposite  this as according to the recent census  the country recorded its lowest birth  rate since the 1960s  the country recorded only 12 million  births in 2020.
